Baby Blues is a redesign of the common inhaler suitable for younger children or any age cohort who have a lack of strength in their hands.

As I have a huge interest in the field of medical device design I wanted to add this project that I have created on my own accord and this is separate to my work that I have completed in NCAD. This was my first attempt to alleviate a medical problem and here is what I have come up with.

The device will be constructed from durable and stylish ABS plastic and will include the mouth piece and the blue outer housing. The dome shape on the top are the canister of hydrofluoroalkane (HFA) which is the gas used to relax or control asthmatic attacks or to keep them from occurring.

Baby Blue can come in two different designs both as friendly as one another and both provide the user with the same ease and satisfaction.

The reason why Baby Blue is more manageable for children or people in need is because of the triggers large surface area. This allows the user to easily use their entire hand to perform the task thus creating more strength rather than previous design of single finger triggering. The mouth piece is not fixed and can be rotated and shifted to the users desire giving the product more of a personnel touch.
